WHY BE PART OF HOT SHOTS SOCCER?

Hot Shots Soccer has been holding classes for little kids for over 15+ years. Led by a former Texas A&M College Women's Soccer player (+ mom of 4 kids), our youth soccer program was designed specifically to build your kids confidence!

We think Hot Shots Soccer should be your little one's first experience in Youth Sports.

Because our program is about so much more than just the game of soccer, we want to be your first and overall best youth sports experience, introducing your kids to an active lifestyle in a fun way.
What better way to start being active than to participate in fun drills and games with mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, or uncle out at the soccer field? Our littlest classes focus on coordination, balance, listening, following directions, and simply having fun while introducing them to the soccer ball.

We believe Hot Shots Soccer is the best way to have fun outside, stay active, and learn all the important life lessons related to youth sports, all in a family-friendly environment.

Our goal at Hot Shots is to build them up to be confident stars on and off the field. We hope they continue with that mindset in their next endeavor!

We hope to build them up with positivity in every class, show them how much we care about them and never let them doubt themselves. We want to inspire them to keep trying and keep smiling and show them how much fun soccer can be!

Fun

The foundation of all sports. We emphasize the FUN in the game by using our imaginations, playing games where we work together to accomplish tasks as a team and celebrate little victories! We want to introduce sports to our little ones in the most fun way we know. Whether we use a pass to defeat the imaginary dragon, fly like superheroes as we learn to dribble, or put on our detective glasses while working on a skill, we are creating fun opportunities for your little one to succeed.

We also believe in the importance of having fun and bonding as a family! The fact that baby sis gets to play in her own class while big brother plays with the older kids is a huge bonus! We are built so that families can enjoy the game together.

Rachel Raley Owner + Coach

I grew up in the DFW area playing for the Dallas Texans ‘90 and ‘89 teams competing for a National Championship 3x and finished my club career with Dallas Sting under coach Kenny Medina. I won a state championship in 2007 for Plano West and continued my career at Texas A&M playing for the women's soccer team for four years (2007-2010), with the last name of Shipley. I received invaluable experience attending training camps with the U-20 and U-23 Women’s National Teams as well as competing in both England and Germany for the U-23 team. I was named to the NSCAA/Adidas Women’s College Scholar All-American Team and was named Texas A&M’s Outstanding Athletics Scholar for 2010-2011, an award given to one female and one male athlete at Texas A&M University.

Although I graduated with a degree in Finance and was on track for a career in the business world, I decided I couldn't leave the game I loved. After much thought and prayer, I felt led to continue coaching and working with kids after hanging up the cleats. In 2011, I was fortunate enough to purchase the Hot Shots program, officially taking over as owner. 14 years later, my passion for keeping soccer fun has expanded to Tomball and the DFW area with an incredible team that shares the same vision. After spending well over a decade working with the ages 18 months to 6 years old, I have really found my “sweet spot” when it comes to working with kids! This is the age where soccer/sports aren’t supposed to be anything but FUN, and we are building the foundation for hopefully a lifetime of appreciating the fun in sport. This game has brought me so much joy as a player, coach, and now a parent, and I hope to share that joy with as many little ones as I can!

I've coached competitive soccer teams, worked many clinics and private lessons, and taught thousands of Hot Shots classes. I feel very blessed and honored to have the opportunity to work with your kids. I appreciate all the support I've received along the journey and hope to make improvements with every season to make Hot Shots enjoyable, instructive, and fun for everyone involved. I truly want every little kid to have the opportunity to play, build confidence, and love the game of soccer!

Lyndsey serres Tomball, TX

I graduated from Texas A&M (WHOOP!) in 2013 and played for the Texas A&M Women’s soccer team all four years (2009-2013). I graduated with a degree in English with a concentration in Education. After I graduated, I got married, in 2014, to Kyle, a fellow Aggie, and taught 3rd grade + coached private soccer lessons on the side. However, in college, I was exposed to coaching a variety of ages... it was during those years of teaching, that I realized how much I missed soccer and coaching little kids!

In 2017, I approached my former teammate and good friend, Rachel Raley, owner of Hot Shots Soccer, about expanding her program to the Tomball, TX area. With Rachel’s support and help, we were able to make this dream of expanding Hot Shots come true and kicked off our first Tomball season in 2017. In 2018, we welcomed our first baby boy, Kace, and in 2023 we welcomed our second baby boy, Kole.

One of the sweetest things to me has been getting to coach both my boys through Hot Shots Soccer Tomball and seeing them fall in love with the game that gave me so much. Fast forward to now, eight years later, and I am just in awe and so grateful for the opportunity to serve and love the Tomball community through Hot Shots Soccer, something that is so near and dear to my heart and own story.

My hope for this program is that it would touch lives and build a love for soccer or sports in general, that it would be a safe and fun place where kids can grow in knowledge, sportsmanship, and confidence!

Matt MedlinCollege station, TX

Howdy! My name is Matthew Medlin I am a former student of Texas A&M University class of 2024 - WHOOP! I grew up in Austin, TX, and I have loved and played soccer since I was 4 years old. I have competed in club soccer with Lonestar Soccer Club, all the way up to the ECNL level. I also played for my 6A high school, where I competed on my varsity team starting my sophomore year.

Although I loved playing soccer, I found an even greater joy in coaching! I was the head coach of my little siblings' REC soccer teams all through high school,  assistant coached at my local middle school, and taught multiple athletes in private lessons. I have coached at Hot Shots Soccer since the Fall of 2021.

I love Hot Shots Soccer, the awesome kiddos, amazing families, and excellent coaches make each season unforgettable. When I am not at Hot Shots playing soccer I love to read, workout, hang out with my friends, go two-stepping, and be a part of my church: Salt City.

What Makes Hot Shots Different Than Other Leagues

We provide the opportunity to play the game in a family friendly environment where the emphasis is on having fun, instilling self-confidence, teaching proper skills and igniting a love for soccer. It doesn’t matter your experience, we will be your guide to the beautiful game as we show your little one just how much fun soccer can be. Our littlest classes focus on movement, coordination, balance, listening, following directions and teamwork while introducing the soccer ball. We want to build their confidence, help them bond with family while learning new skills and get them moving! Our older classes continue to work on learned skills while introducing how to play the game of soccer, attacking, defending and 1v1 situations.

Our coaches have structured curriculum tailored to each specific age group. This includes imaginative games for our littlest ones so they can work on their matching, colors, and direction skills, and incorporating the soccer ball into each class increasingly with older age groups. Plus - no weekend commitments! We offer classes on weekday mornings and after work hours.

Family Engagement

  • How special it is to learn a new sport with your child (18 mo - 2 year old classes). Parents, you are a part of the process! 3 year olds - parents are welcome to help when needed.
  • Learning together: We love having families out at the park and being a part of the soccer experience.
  • This is what makes us different than programs that are hosted at preschools & daycares.
  • For our older kids who can participate on their own, they have mom, dad, siblings, or grandparents able to cheer for them from the sidelines.
